This is a gorgeous heart shaped Rubellite which is the finest colour of
Red Tourmaline. These beautiful
stones are usually, or should I say rarely, found in the Ruby mines of
Madagascar and are often mistaken for Rubies by the inexperienced.
This delightful example is mounted in 18 carat White Gold and is securely
held in five sets of triple claws and has the most charming gallery
comprising of a series hand cut White Gold Hearts between each support and
dates from the late 1930’s.

This
is such a dainty little Ring that I am reluctant to let it go. I know very well
that I will never ever find another petite and adorable Heart Shaped Ring such
as this one, even if I keep dealing for the next 100 years! The heart shaped
Garnet is such a rich Red colour that from many angles and in most lights it
manages to look like a fine Ruby and to add to your pleasure, the culet will
gently caress your skin. All this with a fourteen stone Rose Diamond surround to
plain shoulders and unmarked shank testing as 18ct Gold.

This
Lovely classic heart and coronet ring cannot be bettered for style and elegance
of the period. It was made in
England about 1850, part way into the reign of Queen Victoria and the Emerald
probably came from the Indian mines as well could have the Diamonds.
Surrounding this splendid pear-shaped Emerald are twenty rose Diamonds
and in the coronet above are three old cut brilliant Diamonds.
Unlike most other rings of the period, the settings are all Yellow Gold.
Silver is not used. Behind the
head, the attractive gallery is constructed like a series of miniature
wishbones. The shoulders have a pleasing reeded design and the inner
shank is unmarked and tests as 18ct Gold. Altogether
a very desirable ring of excellent quality.
English, circa 1850.
